Barney Lee Alder, Iii

Mr. Barney Lee Alder, III age 63, of Hermitage, TN. passed away on March 6, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.

Lee was born on January 18, 1960, to the late William James Alder and Geva Dodson Alder. Lee leaves behind his wife, Linda J. Alder. Meeting in Nashville when they were young, they enjoyed 42 wonderful years of marriage together.

Lee was a proud Eagle Scout. He was a computer programmer for over 40 years and loved all things tech. Halloween was his favorite time of year. Lee would decorate his house so well each year that car loads of children would be dropped at his house every year just to experience the decorations. In his later years, Lee became a Ham Radio Operator and was very active in the Nashville Amateur Radio Club.

Lee loved his family, he gave loads of love and support and was at every sporting, school, and personal event for his children and grandchildren. He always had a joke to tell and was the life of the party. Lee never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone.

Survivors include his wife, Linda J. Alder, children, Amy Alder (Cheyenne) Smith and Bryan (Chelsie) Alder, grandchildren, Lincoln Smith (12) and Adelyn Smith (10) whom he adored and sister, Emilee Alder Randall.

Visitation with the Alder family will begin on Thursday, March 9, 2023, 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 12:00 pm until service time at 1:30 pm with burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. All services will be at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN. 37221.
