She was born on December 25, 1934 in Lenoir, NC.
She always wanted to be a nurse. She attended nursing school at NCBH after taking pre-nursing at Mars Hill College. Completed BSNE at Florida State University and completed education with Masters in nursing at Emory University. She developed a course in Pediatric Nursing at Orange Memorial Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Then taught Pediatric Nursing at Florida State University for three years, Vanderbilt University for 19 years and Middle TN State University for 12 years. She was an active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville, TN.
She is survived by her brother, Hank Carson (Shelby); many nieces and nephews and many good friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Missions Fund at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 2101 Old Hickory Blvd. Nashville, TN 37215.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12 p.m. on Saturday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
