Mark Edward Hasty, age 46, went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2015. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Joseph H. and Edith E. Hasty and Joseph R. and Sarah E. Clark. Survived by wife of 22 years, Cindy L. Hasty; daughters, Leigh Anne and Bailey Hasty; Parents, William E. and Mary Ellen Hasty; Sister, Kimberly A. Goostree; Nieces, Ellen E. and Kaitlyn A. Goostree; along with many family members and life- long friends.
Mark was born on September 27, 1969 in Nashville, TN. As a boy, he attended Holy Rosary Academy, and graduated in 1987 from Father Ryan High School. He was a member of the Boys Club as a young man, earning Youth of the Year in 1986 for his volunteer work with the organization. He loved playing baseball, later coaching his daughters at Donelson Civitan Softball Park. Mark was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4972. He fulfilled his life's dream of becoming a firefighter, allowing him to serve the City of Nashville for 24 years as an Engineer on the Nashville Fire Department at Station 28 in Donelson, TN.
The visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 4 pm- 8 pm. A Rosary will be said in his honor at 7 pm on Tuesday, led by Deacon Marty Mulloy. The funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 12 pm, Fr. Ed Steiner officiating, with visitation two hours prior to the service at 10 am. Interment will be at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Ricky White, Walter Demonbreun, Sr., John Stone, Mark Alford, Jeff Young, and Doug Clariday. Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Arrington, Carl Hasty, Tom Clark, Robert Petre, Jim Schultz, Matt Mayo, Paul Forster, Mike Schamun, Knights of Columbus Council 4972, and members of the Nashville Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in Cindy Hasty's name at the Nashville Fireman's Credit Union, P.O. Box 60567, 908 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206.
