William Ben "Bill" Richardson, Sr., Age 89, of Hohenwald, Tennessee, passed on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Lewis County Manor Nursing Center.
Bill was born in Fairview, Tennessee, on January 22, 1928, to the late Oscar Green
Richardson and the late Ludie Mai Stinson Richardson.

At 17 years old, Bill enlisted into the U. S Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a dedicated soldier and paratrooper and recipient of the Prestigious Purple Heart. He often shared his military memories. After the military, he began working for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). He traveled throughout the state installing the large TVA towers. He retired from TVA with 35 years of loyal service. Bill Richardson is remembered as being hard-working, kind, generous, and for his entertaining sense of humor. He is deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to Bill's parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Oscar Junior Richardson; sisters, Mary Deloras Richardson Hale, Ineda Richardson Wingate, and Joan Richardson Moss.
Survived by his daughter, Betty Anne Richardson Redmond of Clinton Township, Michigan; sons, William Ben "Billy" (Dianne) Richardson, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan, and William R. (Linda) Rollins of Centerville, Tennessee; sisters, Maxine Richardson Herrman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Margaret Richardson (Lud) Reinheimer of Nashville, Tennessee, Jean Richardson Shelton of Manchester, Tennessee, Geneva
Richardson (Joe) Sheeran of Fairview, Tennessee, and Carolyn Richardson (Benton) Tomlinson of Fairview, Tennessee; half-brothers, Jesse (Patsy) Richardson of Springville, Tennessee, Jamie Richardson of Paris, Tennessee, and Joe (Lisa) Richardson of Camden, Tennessee half-sisters, Pat Richardson Forrest Of Paris, Tennessee, Sharon Richardson Pond of Westmoreland, Tennessee, Lynn Richardson
(Lyle) Babinski of McEwen, Tennessee, and Vicki Richardson Boyd of Clarksburg, Tennessee; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and dearly loved companion, Sarah Richardson.
The family will receive visitors at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Friday, January 19 from 4:00-7:00pm. and again Saturday, January 20 from 10:00am - 11:00am with the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Bro Clifford Dobbs officiating the service. Interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with military honors. Active pallbearers are Nathan Dawson, Nelson Dawson, Jimmy Jones, Victor Richardson, Lynn Fox, Bruce Jackson, and Kevin Norman.
