SALTER, Alice O.-age 81, went to be with the lord on September 3, 2012. Alice had many hobbies but she was most passionate about gardening, cooking and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Holiday Heights Baptist Church for many years. She was a strong willed feisty woman who loved her family. God broke the mold when he made her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death in by her parents, John and Iva Owen; sister, Martha Martin; brother, Marvin "Sonny" Owen. She is survived by her children, Mike Salter Joyce, Cheryl Salter Joe Leffelman, Diane MacKay Mike, and Wanda Gregory; grandchildren, Jamie Salter, Brandy Salter, Kristen Salter, Brandon Salter, Derek Salter Amanda, Jackie MacKay, Mikey MacKay, and J.J. Gregory, and Kevin Gregory; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, John Owen, Jr. Virginia. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Brother Herb Wilburn officiating. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
