COLLINS, Allen W., passed away peacefully on February 1, 2010, at his home in Nashville. He served with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific theater in WWII and retired from the Veterans' Administration as Chief of Maintenance for VA Lakeside Hospital, Chicago. Survived by his wife, Marjorie Collins of Nashville, TN, and by three sons, Allen M. Collins of San Jose, CA; Barry Julia Collins of Flossmoor, IL; and Terry Joan Collins of Homewood, IL. Proud grandfather of six Julie Sutton Tyler of San Francisco, CA; Allen J. Megumi Collins of Urawa, Japan; Miriel Josh Pittman of Grand Junction, CO; Jesse Collins of Newport News, VA; Ryan Collins of Addison, IL; and Dorothy Collins of Chicago, IL and great-grandfather of three Kian and Maya Collins of Urawa, Japan, and Nolan Sutton of San Francisco, CA. Preceded in death by his brother Ronald Collins and also survived by his brothers Hugh Collins Cypress, CA and Bill Collins Chicago, IL. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:00 p.m. Friday Feb. 5, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Visitation Thursday Feb. 4, 2010, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME, Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN.
