Alma Miller Kelso Sams Albright, age 92, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, February 28th. Born March 16, 1921, she was the second child of Emmett and Becky Miller of Morgan Country, Alabama. As well as her parents, she is also predeceased by four husbands, Connie Kelso, Dave Sams, Floyd Blankenship and Elzie Albright; two sisters, Clovis Puckett and Hilda Cochrane, and a brother, Emmett Lee Miller, Jr.
She is survived by her three children, Brenda Jeane (Pat) Sharpe, Barry Kelso and Dawn Kelso Perkerson; five grandchildren, Amanda Sharpe (Michael) Rigsby, Bethany Kelso Webster, Patrick (Michelle) Sharpe, Jr., Jason (Niki) Kelso and Alex Perkerson; four great grandchildren, Jordan Sharpe, Brayden Webster, Grace Rigsby and Reese Kelso; two sisters, Sara Melson of Cullman, Al and Reba (Auburn) Slaten of Fultondale, Al; two brothers, Ralph (Jean) Miller of Trinity, Al and Jon (Linda) Miller of Moulton.
She spent many years working in retail sales with W.T. Grant Co., Bernie's and with Direct Fashions in Franklin, Tn.
At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to express heart-felt appreciation to the staff at West Meade Place for the loving care provided for the past 12 years; to Guardian Hospice, especially Pam Walden, Kim Mullin and Dennis Smith; and to wonderful and faithful friends, Margo Barlow and Janet Charlton.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 3 PM thru 7PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home where a celebration of Alma's life will be conducted on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1 PM with Chaplain Dennis Smith with Guardian Hospice officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to service.
Burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
