Alvin Leo Manuel, 62, triumphantly passed into the presence of his Savior while surrounded by his family on July 8, 2017. He leaves behind the memory of his exuberant, contagious love for others and an enduring legacy of his tenacious faith in Christ.
Alvin was born in Mount Olive, NC, on February 4, 1955 to the late William and Evelyn Wynn Manuel. His profound work ethic was apparent throughout his life, education at the University of North Carolina, and prolific career in sales. His steadfast love for his wife, Renee Cook Manuel, was evident through their 36-year marriage. In addition to Renee, Mr. Manuel is survived by his children: Ashley Schot (Justin), Austin Manuel, Amy Cunningham (Jamie), Alysse Manuel, and Andrew Manuel; grandchildren: Hudson, Mackenna, and AliGrace Schot, and Leo Cunningham; three brothers: William, Doug and Carey Manuel, and three sisters, Theresa Howard, Phyllis Jones, and Regina Boyd, and many dear family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rhonda Rodgers.
Christ Presbyterian Church, 2323 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, will host visitation, July 13 from 4-6pm and a Celebration of Life Service, July 14 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Homes for Homes, PO Box 2651, Brentwood, TN 37024 or via website at www.homes-for-homes.org, a non-profit organization on which Mr. Manuel served as a board member.
