Amy Ruth Heckman Hostettler was born in Nashville on June 10, 1954 to Mary (Scarborough) and Walter W. Heckman, Jr. She passed away after an extended illness on December 31, 2019.

She was the wife of Tony Hostettler, mother of Chase Hostettler, stepmother of Shannon Hostettler Davis (Kyle) and Kenzie Hostettler Barth (Joe). Step grandmother to adored granddaughter, Lizzie Barth. Sister-in-law to Tina Hostettler Whitley (Don). She was the youngest sister of MaryDe Heckman Elliston and Ellen Heckman Davenport (Joe); aunt to Jeff Ligon (Courtney), Kathryn Goodwin Phillips (Jason), Katie Elliston Mehaffey (Brad), Christina Whitley (Robin Bowman), Stephanie Whitley Kemp (Josh) and Alan Whitley (partner Steven Adair). She loved her great nieces and nephews Steven Ligon, Lacy Ligon, Grace Thompson, Landon Phillips, Britton Phillips, Cameron Phillips, Quinn Mehaffey, Ellie Mehaffey, Corinne Kemp, Copeland Kemp and Scarlett Kemp.

On July 9, 1994, she married Tony Hostettler and became a stepmom to his precious twin daughters, Shannon and Kenzie. She couldn't have loved them more if she had given birth to them herself. On September 10, 1997, she and Tony had Charles Anthony Hostettler, III whom they called Chase. He was the light of her life and her pride in him and love for him was evident every day.

She was a proud member of Hillsboro High School's class of 1972 and took great delight in helping to plan, organize and carry out the class reunions. In 1976, she graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a BA in Education. At UT, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and began her life-long love of the orange and white. While she didn't get to fulfill her bucket list item of running through the power T before kickoff, she was a Vol for Life. She took great delight in the fact that Chase chose to attend the University of Tennessee where he will graduate on Mother's Day May 2020. His graduation will mark a 100% college graduation rate for Mary and Walter Heckman's children and grandchildren.

Amy was a fierce and loyal friend. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, taking great delight in her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, and cousin.
