Andrea Jane Caldwell, passed away on January 4, 2024, in Smyrna, TN. She was born on October 9, 1945, in New Castle, IN.
Preceding Jane in death are her parents Beverly and Forrestine Lyon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Jim Caldwell; children Carianna (David) Johnson, Andrew Caldwell, Amanda (Erik) Cachat; grandchildren, Jamie Plunkett, Shelby (Paul) Malmstrom, Noah Cachat, Hannah Cachat, Joshua Cachat; bonus grandchildren, Shari Williams, Donnetta Johnson, Kristy Weddington, Alexis Johnson; 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brother, Malcolm (Rose) Lyon; sister, Terry (Jim) Day, numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Jane had a career as a 5th-grade science teacher, dedicating over 30 years of her life to educating and inspiring young minds. Her passion for teaching extended beyond the classroom. She loved helping people and was known for her incredible creativity. In her free time, she indulged in various hobbies such as painting beautiful oil and pencil drawings. Jane found solace in knitting and immersed herself in the pages of her Bible, reading it from front to back every year. Her love for music shone through as she joyfully sang in the church choir.
For 15 years, Jane was an active member of the West Meade Fellowship. Additionally, she dedicated over three decades to the Pegram First Baptist Church. She also taught Sunday school and actively participated in various church activities. Her commitment to spreading the word of God extended to hosting a Back Yard Bible Club at her house for over 20 years.
Visitation will be Monday, January 8, 2024 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN. 37221 and on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 10:00am until 11:00am with a Celebration of Life at 11:00am at West Meade Fellowship Church on 277 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN the burial will immediately follow at 12:30pm at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
The Caldwell family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Kena Lester, Dorothy Basulto, Kristy Weddington, and Jennifer Nelson for their exceptional caregiving and support given to Jane.
Jane Caldwell was an extraordinary woman who left a mark on all those she encountered. Her kindness, talent, and unwavering faith will forever inspire and resonate with those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on through the memories she created and the love she shared.
