Woltering, Anita Jean Flack Whaley passed away March 6, 2013, Nashville, TN. Born in Shelbyville, IN March 9, 1926. Preceded in death by parents, Toney E. Flack and Ruth Bausback Flack of Indianapolis, Indiana; husbands, Cecil H. Whaley, Sr. and Robert Woltering; son, Steven R. Whaley; and granddaughter, Megan E. Whaley. Survived by son, Cecil H. Whaley, Jr. Fran; grandson, Steven Weston Whaley fiancée, Mindy Andrews; granddaughter, Ashley Nicolette Whaley; sisters, Mrs. Neorl Cody and Mrs. Rosalie Spurlock; special friend, Mrs. Dot Fisher. She attended Indiana University and Butler University. She retired from St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville in 2010. She served as Director of Public Relations for Baptist Hospital, Nashville, from 1965-1969. She was a Charter member of the Middle TN Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and served as its first female President. She served as an officer of the Nashville Chapter of the American Women in Radio & Television, the Nashville Federation of Advertising and the Printing Industry Association of the South. She was a sales account executive with Newspaper Printing Corporation, 1961-63, Vice-President of Public Relations with Hart & Associates, Nashville. She co-owned Communications Associates Public Relations, Inc. She served as Color Printing Sales Executive for major Nashville Printing houses from 1980-90. Anita was a brilliant light which shown into the lives of all who met her. She was devoted to her extended family including her many nieces and nephews and most especially to her three grandchildren. All their lives have been changed forever due to her love, guidance and devotion. The special gift of love which she shared with all will live in their hearts forever. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Catholic Church and Christ the King. A life celebration will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN. Visitation at 10:00 AM with service at 11:00.
