Annie R. Denson (Peggy), Age 86 slipped quietly from this life on September 15, 2020. She is survived by her husband and teenage sweetheart, James; son Danny Denson of Kingston Springs, TN; daughter Lisa Denson of Brentwood, TN; Grandson Jason Alexander (Kendra Colquitt-Smith) of Nashville, TN; sister Martha Upshaw (Lewis) of Junction City, Kansas; brother Larry West of Lascassas, TN; sister-in-law Joan Jones of Hendersonville, TN; and her many nieces and nephews . Born in Macon County, TN in 1934, she is pre-deceased by her parents, Chester and Zeffie Dickens West. After marrying James, Annie threw her energies into raising their children and running the homestead for a blissful 70 years. Her career was being a wonderful mom and always being there for all of us. Her passion for her family and love she showed was endless. She had a great zest for life, nature and making others happy. She endeared herself to those who knew her with pure honesty and humor. Her talent for cooking fresh produce from her garden brought friends & family to her home to enjoy festive meals on every occasion throughout the year. There was nothing that she enjoyed more than throwing a big dinner party where you may have entered as a stranger but left as a friend. She loved nature with all its creatures and flora holding a particular fondness in caring for her hummingbirds which returned each season. She shared many of her talents through beautiful roses and blueberries she had grown giving them to neighbors & friends. Those who spent time with her benefited greatly from her caring concern, laughter and loving counsel. She was an uplifting source of joy and wisdom to so many, always looking for ways to help others. Her spirit will always remain a shining light of hope & love for all who knew her. Mom was a wonderful Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
Due to Covid -19, a public celebration of Annie's life will not be held at this time. A private family service will be held at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
