Anthony Roushdi

March 11, 1965 — May 24, 2021

Nashville, Tn

Anthony H. Roushdi, age 56, died on May 24, 2021. He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia Conroy Roushdi and his grandmother Edna Conroy.

Tony was born on March 11, 1965 in Cairo, IL. He was raised alongside his siblings Gigi and Joe by his mother Pat and his grandma Edna. Tony attended St. Joseph School and Cairo High School during which time he developed a love for nature, theater, mechanics, and the art of magic. He was a member of the tennis team, speech and debate team, and thanks to his mom, brother, and cousin Matt he became a skilled hunter and fisherman-- hobbies he enjoyed through adulthood. Tony earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics at Murray State University, where he became a brother of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. It was there where Tony established lifelong friendships and met his wife Mary Zinobile.

Tony had a successful career as an IT Consultant, which led the family to Staunton, Virginia. They raised their four oldest children there and juggled work while making it look effortless. Tony’s love for community drew him to The Knights of Columbus and The International Brotherhood of Magicians. He held these relationships close to his heart long after leaving VA. They moved near Mary’s family in Owensboro, KY, where their youngest child Sarah was born. He was dedicated to his faith and supported his children through Catholic School.

Finally the family settled in Tennessee, where they found their home at St. Henry. He quickly became active as a leader in Crusillo, Boy Scouts, Why Catholic, Career Support Team, and church events like performing magic shows at parish picnics. He shared himself fully and was a friend to everyone he met.

Tony is survived by his wife; Mary Zinobile Roushdi, daughters; Alex, Grace, and Sarah Roushdi, sons; Luke (Lindsey) and Mark Roushdi, sister; Gigi Norris (Drew) and nephew; Brant Norris, brother; Joe (Julie), father; Hussein Roushdi (Ellen) and cousins; Matt Conroy (Lisa) and Debbie Conroy Flemming (Jim)
