Ara Knight Mayo, Born September 1, 1916 and passed away on January 1, 2016.

Preceded in death by her husband, Homer E. Mayo "Dutch"; daughter, Joan Mayo who passed away at birth; parents, Howard and Lily Knight; sisters, Etna Knight Birdwell, Gena Knight Mulligan, Vida Knight Kerner, Lida Knight Sening, Alda Knight Cart.

Survived by children, Kathleen Mayo Duke, Diane Mayo Sexton (Bobby), Jerry Mayo (Lynda); grandchildren, Stacey Duke Woodroof, Scotty Duke, Rob Sexton, Beth Sexton Jackson, Dr. Maria Mayo, Dr. Keith Mayo and Matt Mayo; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Knight McCoin.

She was very loved by her family and all that knew her.

A visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 4, at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
