Arthur Harrell, age 94, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 16th. Art was born in Athens, Georgia on January 19, 1921. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Gaynelle Hogan Harrell. He is survived by his two daughters, Jan Wolff (Laroy), and Nancy Clifton, five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren

Art was a veteran of World War 2 and retired from the Navy with 22 years of service. He later retired, after 20 years, from his second career at Georgia Tech University.

A Celebration of Art's life will be held on Saturday, September 12th, at 2:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, Highway 100. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to AseraCare Hospice, Donelson Pike, Nashville (aseracare.com).
