Arthur W. Hudgens, Jr., age 94, of Fairview, TN went to be with his heavenly father Sunday, July 12, 2020 with his wife by his side. He was born December 31, 1925 in Newsome Station, TN to the late Arthur W. Hudgens, Sr. and Leona (McIntosh) Hudgens. Arthur is also preceded in death by his siblings; Alfred, James, Doyle, Micky, Claude, Thomas and Ava Nell.

Arthur was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army and received the Bronze Star Medal. For several years, he was a Deacon of Pegram Church of Christ and is remembered by his family as a kindhearted and loving man. Arthur was an avid gardener; planting flowers and vegetables every season. He also loved planting sunflowers and had his own blackberry farm.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Lucy Hudgens; daughter, Janice Raburn (Michael); Son, Dennis Hudgens (Alice); daughter, Darla Gail Hudgens; grandchildren, William Hudgens, Beth Arnold (Jason),Cathy Stanley, Haley Barnes (Adam); great-grandchildren, Lauren Arnold, Lucy and Allie Reynolds, Judah Barnes, and Alzady Barnes.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Brother Julian Goodpaster officiating. Interment will follow in the garden of Everlasting Life of Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with military honors.
