On January 6, 1977, Athena Michelle made her entrance into the snow-blanketed world with a flourish that she would later be known by. Her stunning beauty, quick wit, sharp intelligence, and bubbling personality captivated, fascinated, and simply drew you in. Her laugh was infectious, her smile elevating, her charm unconventional. And she loved with the same fierceness that she desired in return. And though over the years, her life mirrored the unpredictable patterns of the raging sea she loved, trying desperately to beat her down and steal her natural light, she managed to persevere, always reaching for God's hand and continually desiring His comfort. Now she is free.

Her own life was forever changed by the life and death of her husband Charles Morton. And in different ways, she leaves behind a piece of herself within each member of her surviving family. With the family she was born into: her mother Athena Maria, her brother Michael Anthony Smith, her sister Melissa Robin Collings. And the family that bloomed from her: her son Chandler Jade Morton, and her daughters Skylar Alexa Leek and Ava Welch.
