Avis Richardson Hendon of Nashville, age 94, passed away with family by her side on March 7, 2019.

She was born near Melbourne, Arkansas in 1924. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, I. Hardeman Hendon, her parents Obadiah and Orpha Richardson of Little Rock, AR, and her three older sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Terry (Linda) Hendon and Larry (Cathy) Hendon, her grandchildren Christopher (Rebecca) Hendon, Taylor (Taylor) Hendon and Campbell Hendon, and her two great grandchildren.

She was dearly loved and she loved her family well, and will be missed very much. Avis was a long time and faithful member of Bellevue Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 10am to 11:30am. A private family funeral and burial will follow at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery.

A special thanks from the family is given to the nurses and care givers at the Lodge of Nashville and to Alive Hospice for the care and love given to her.
