Bahram Saadati

Born in Tehran, Iran on March 14, 1935

Departed on December 22, 2015 and resided in Nashville, Tennessee

Bahram (Ron) Saadati was born in Tehran, Iran and came to The United States at the end of 1959 to go to college in Chico, CA. He died at his home in Nashville, TN December 22nd from the disease knows as PSP. His wife, Sylvia, who cared for him at home with professional outside help, was at his side.

When Bahram arrived in Chico, his first American friends dubbed him "Ron" and it stuck. He liked Chico so much that he had 40 extra college units before he transferred to San Diego State College to complete his degree in Geology, graduating in 1966.

Ron married CSUC student Sylvia Muri September 2, 1964. They had three daughters: Dr. Sonya Saadati (1965) of Bristol, TN; Laura Saadati-Kepper (1969) of Nashville, TN; Alicia Saadati (1974) of Murrells Inlet, SC.

Instead of working as a geologist, Ron became a self-made businessman. He spent the most years as the owner/manager of The Jolly Fox, a country/western tavern/lounge/casino in Chico, CA. He sold his business in 1997 in order to join his wife and oldest daughter's family in Bristol, TN and help raise their two grandsons, Drake Marden (1993) and Trask Marden (1998). He and Sylvia were able to enjoy country life on their eight acre hill in Kingsport, TN where Ron's labor of love was planting fruit and nut trees galore while enjoying Sylvia's many planted flowers.

Sylvia moved Ron to Nashville in May, 2014 to be closer to his specialists at Vanderbilt, to be near their middle daughter and her husband, Michael Kepper, and to live in a home that could accommodate his debilitations brought on by the PSP.

Ron was always a very hard worker who provided well for his family and his many employees. He was famous for his great wit and was always the "life of the party" making others laugh wherever he went. He loved cooking for his friends and was known by many as the "Kabob King". His smile could light up a room. Ron loved planting, world news. Board games, especially with his grandsons, and poker. He enjoyed visits to his home country to see his large family, but was always happy to return to the US where he'd earned his citizenship.

Ron is survived by his wife, Sylvia, of Nashville as well as: his daughters, Dr. Sonya Saadati, Laura Saadati-Kepper (Michael), and Alicia Saadati; his grandchildren, Drake Marden, ETSU student, Trask Marden of Bristol, and Ava Linnea Correll (2012) of Murrells Inlet, SC; his sisters, Touran Saadati (Haerezadeh) of Tehran, Dr. Pouran Saadati (Razavi) of Tehran and Toronto, Canada; and a brother, Dr. Kianoush Saadati of Oxnard, CA.; and many nieces and nephews scattered around the world.

Ron was preceded in death by both of his parents, Reza Saadati of Tehran and Shahriar, Iran and his mother, Zahrah. Also preceding him in death were his oldest brother, Morteza Saadati, and his oldest sister, Ghodsi Saadati (Akbari), both of Tehran.

Bahram (Ron) left his stamp on the hearts of all who knew him well. He will be sorely missed by all.
