The world is a better place because of Barbara Ambrose's life and love for others. Barbara (January 8, 1965 - May 21, 2014) was loved with a fierce love by her family and her God. She was a member of Midtown Fellowship Church, and before that of Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN. She was a deeply treasured wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and co-laborer to many in her community.

Barbara, a Knoxville native, was a woman of great courage and energy. She inspired those who knew her to trust in God's goodness in every season, and she was honored in many ways for her selfless contributions to her community. Along with caring for her family, she started a successful real estate business and helped launch and sustain her daughter's vision to care for orphans in Kenya by establishing the ten-year Nashville tradition, Ellie's Run for Africa.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Alice O'Hearn Brink, father George H. Brink, Sr. and brother, Michael J. Brink, who is survived his wife Deb Brink. To cherish Barbara's memory and celebrate the wonderful life she shared, she leaves behind her loving husband, John Ambrose, her daughters Ellie, Kathleen, and Margaret, and her son Jack, and her brothers and sister: Hank Brink and Lois, John Brink and Colleen, James Brink and Carole, Kathleen Bullock and Bill, David Brink and Julie, Stephen Brink and Patricia, Gregory Brink and Ann Marie and step-mother Orpha Brink. She also leaves 25 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Christ Presbyterian Church, 2323 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN 37215 on Friday, May 23 from 5-8 pm and Funeral Service on Saturday, May 24 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ellie's Run for Africa at elliesrun.org. Burial will follow at HARPETH HILLS FUNERAL HOME AND MEMORIAL GARDENS.
