Barbara Bach

It is with sadness that we announce that Barbara Lynn Bach (Lynn) passed away on 4/6/23 after a prolonged illness. Lynn was born on June 19,1949 to Byron Theodore Bach and Martha Ann Coleman Bach in Akron, Ohio. She is predeceased by both of her parents. She is survived by her three siblings, Dr. Carole Ann Bach, Ted Bach (Sherry), and Cathy Bach Guenther (Bob). She had 5 nephews, Richard Thomas Matthai Jr. (Marsha), Matthew Ryan Bach (Liz), Daniel Alan Bach, Kevin Marshall Bach (Jenny), Robert Coleman Guenther. She had 3 great nephews, Coleman Foerster Matthai , Easton Bach Matthai, Wells Everett Bach and 3 great nieces, Josephine Martha Bach, Charlotte Suzanne Bach, and Madeline Eliza Bach.

Lynn grew up in East Nashville and graduated from Isaac Litton High School. She graduated from Emory University and The University of Tennessee School of Law. Following graduation she worked as an Attorney for the Legal Aid Society, then as an Attorney for the Tennessee Education Association until she retired.

Lynn thoroughly enjoyed travelling through the years. She went to Russia, Thailand, France, Alaska, Canada and the British Isles. She was very social and made many friends throughout her travels. She was also a voracious reader and enjoyed collecting books.

Lynn was a dedicated cat person. She loved Shadow, Speckles, Punkin, Katy, Angel and became a self -described “Cat Lady”. She loved animals and sea life and enjoyed going to Aquarium’s and watching sea otters, seals, and dolphins.

Lynn was diagnosed with M. S. in 1983 and fought bravely through the intervening years to overcome progressive disability. She enjoyed her retirement until 2010 when her condo was flooded. She decided to enter the Waterford Assisted Living facility and lived there until her death. The family appreciates all of loving care she received throughout her illness.

Please join the family in a Celebration of Lynn's life on Saturday, June 10 at The Pavilion at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home at 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 1:30pm followed by inurnment. We will return to the Pavilion for the reception.
