Barbara Ann Lampley "Gran Gran"

Nashville - Barbara Ann "Gran Gran" Lampley, 88 years old passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Alive Hospice Nashville following a short illness. She was born in Nashville on August 14, 1935 to Louse Venters Ligon White and Paul Edwin White.

She is survived by her three children, Pamela G. Bradley (Kenny), Stephen Todd Lampley, Lisa Hutchison Gill (Eddie), her niece, Ann Alexander, her seven grandchildren, Amber Winston (Lawrence), Ashley Cordell (Tyler), Cory Lampley, Drew Lampley, Ryan Lampley, Alex Hutchison (Carolyn), Charlie Gill (Ericha), and her 14 great-grandchildren, Logan, Lucas, Tristan, Hendrix, Hudson, Maeve, Chloie, Aubrey, Will, Luna Rose, Ellie Grace, Loralei, Sandy Jo, and Roan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Lampley, her mother, father and both brothers, Ed and Ronnie.

She attended Cohn High School in Nashville and graduated in 1954. She met her husband at the local skating rink when he was home on leave from the Navy. They married on September 20, 1954 in Corinth, MS. She was involved in many things throughout her life. She sold Christmas trees and traveled with the carnival. She loved to read, decorate cakes, bake cookies at Christmas with her family, canning vegetables, and preserves, watching the Atlanta Braves baseball games and quilting.

She made her three children and each of her seven grandchildren a hand stitched quilt.

In this time of grief, we remember Gran Gran as a loving mother, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was happiest when she was spending time with her family and when it was baseball season, so she had something to watch on TV. We will miss her physical presence, but she will always be in our hearts.

Visitation will be Monday, March 4, 2024 from 11:30am ~ 1:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 1:30pm and the burial to immediately follow all at Harpeth Hills Funeral home 

 In lieu of flowers we suggest a charitable donation in her name to Alive Hospice.
