Barbara Jean Walker Underwood was born 06-26-1936 and passed into Heaven 11-28-2015. She was a native of Columbia, Tennessee, and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Martha Evelyn Walker. She moved to Brentwood in 1968 where she has lived since. She is survived by her husband, Robert Underwood, and her Children, Kevin Stinson, Maria Holland, (Kell) and Amy Swinea, (Jerry) as well as 5 grandchildren, Whitney, Brandon and Drew Holland and Katie and Emmy Swinea.
Barbara was a faithful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart. Having taught kindergarten for over 30 years, she had a love of children that was infectious. Her happiest times were when she was with her family. Her gifts were generosity, faithfulness and love. She died in the faith of the gospel and lived long enough to see all of her grandchildren baptized into Christ. Having been blessed with a long heritage of parents, grandparents and great grandparents that were believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, she is being welcomed at the gate into glory.
Please join the family for the celebration of her life. Visitation will be Monday from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1 at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens. In her honor, donations may be made to Agape or Spring Hill Children's Home.
