PAYNE, Barry Steven, age 57, passed away March 5, 2012. Barry was a 1972 graduate of Hendersonville High School and went on to graduate from Vols State Community College. He was a long time member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church where he was the Food Service Director and also a member of the Faith Riders Sunday School Class. Barry enjoyed music and was part of the John Fox New Country Band, where he played bass. For many years he also served the community as Scout Master for Troop 133. He touched many lives and loved to laugh. He loved to cook and especially enjoyed serving others. He will be truly missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary Jane Payne; children, Wesley Katie Payne and Melissa Payne; mother, Inez Payne; grandchildren, Mary Addison Payne and Ella Payne; brothers, Kelly Lisa Payne and Neil Payne; father-in-law, Tommy Kerkeles; mother-in-law, Barbara Kerkeles; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the church and also on Saturday at the church beginning at 11 a.m. until service hour. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hendersonville First Baptist Church Building Committee or the Global Impact Fund.
