Bartheld Risner

February 12, 1935 — November 10, 2024

Nashville

Bart Risner departed peacefully at home under the care of hospice, surrounded by his wife and family on November 10, 2024. He was born in Hindman, Kentucky and was raised in nearby Whitesburg, KY. He then married his wife of 70 years, Charlene ‘Char’ in 1955.

Later he became an electrician by trade owning an electrical contracting business in Chicago, IL. He moved his family to Mt. Juliet, TN where he worked traveling the United States wiring towers and smokestacks for power facilities. While residing in Mt. Juliet, he was honored to become a Mason. Bart and Char later moved to a beautiful farm in Scottsville, KY where he worked for General Motors for many years at the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, KY.

After retiring from GM, he loved spending time working on the farm and raising cattle. Their days on the farm were filled with laughter and hard work. The farmhouse had a wrap-around porch which served as a gathering place for friends and family. He enjoyed playing golf and converted several acres on the farm for his personal driving range. Bart was also an avid Kentucky basketball fan and could be seen dressed in blue whenever UK was playing – Go Big Blue!

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Risner and three daughters, Debbie Jones (Benny), Terrie Van Buren (Byron) and Donna Glenn (Walter). He leaves behind his grandchildren Jeremy Sanders (Jessica), Andy Sanders (Samantha), Hank Glenn (Marisa), Fielding Hardin (Chris) and John Glenn (Peyton) and his great grandchildren Jackson Sanders, River Sanders, Will Sanders, Ava Markowski, Easton Hardin and Annemarie Glenn. Bart was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Grace Risner and sister, Glenna.
