died on Sunday at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, following a cardiac event.
Bernard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christa (Levine), their two children, Cary Sutinis (Emily) of Nashville and Beth Sutinis (Paul La Monica) of Brooklyn, New York. Bernard is also survived by four grandchildren, three sisters, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Prior to relocating to Nashville in 2010, Bernie and Chris lived in Williamsville, New York, from 1977, where they raised their children. Bernie worked in the scrap iron and steel industry for more than 30 years, and was an active member of the trade organization ISRI, the Audubon Golf Course in Amherst, and St. Gregory the Great RC Church.
Bernie was born in Waukegan, Illinois, to the late Anthony and Margaret (Guerin) Sutinis. He graduated from Monmouth College. A life-long Chicago Cubs fan, Bernie was delighted they won the World Series in 2016. It was wonderful, as Bernie would say.
Funeral Mass will be 12pm, Saturday, November 11th at St. Matthew Catholic Church (535 Sneed Rd W, Franklin, TN 37069). Visitation will be 4-7pm, Friday with a Vigil at 7pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home & 10:30am-12:00pm, Saturday at church.
