During those years he worked for General Motors Corp., Delco Remy Division in Anderson Indiana. He also worked for Oster Corp in Port Washington WI and was then transferred to Cookeville, TN. He and his family moved to Nashville in 1980 to build the France Plant in Fairview, TN. He started his own business, Braeuner & Co., LLC. working until he retired.

At St. Henry Church in Nashville, he had been an usher, a member of Cursillo and helped on many projects.

Three of his children and one grandchild chose spouses whom he treasured: Debbie Braeuner, Steven Gild, Stephanie Braeuner and Crystal Braeuner. They became his own.

Bernie has 10 grandchildren: Bernhard III (Curt,) Jennifer and Stephanie Braeuner; Elliot, Adam and Simon Gild; Will, Hallie, McKenna and Henry Braeuner. They were a source of constant joy and pride.

Bernie shared his loving ways and sense of humor with his wife of 52 years, Mary.

He was a loving, caring, happy man who will continue to be loved by his family.
