Betty Tiesler went home to be with Jesus, her Savior, on Monday, January 8th at her residence in Nashville, TN.
The Lord blessed Betty with a wonderful husband, Ted. They were married in 1964 and would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in May. God gave her three children: Libby, Jay and Amanda “Mandy”.
She cherished her family and friends as gifts from the Lord.
Her husband, Ted, faithfully continues to honor her memory along with her daughter Amanda Ulrich (Tim); daughter in law Carrie Tiesler; granddaughters Jessica Durai, Isabelle Tiesler, Sophie Tiesler; brother Billy Warre; niece Sarah Warren; nephews Adrian Warren, Casey Tiesler (Beth), Jake Tiesler, Daniel Tiesler (Julianna).
Betty honored the Lord with her photography by capturing candid moments with family and friends. She also did toll painting as well as ceramics. She was a champion for children with special needs. Volunteering at the Kids on the Block puppet show brought her and family great joy as she helped to educate the children of metro schools about their peers with special needs as the ADA laws progressed towards inclusion. Betty led many family outings to Harris Hillman School, The Rochelle Center and Mur-Ci Home. She spoke with gratitude about the friends she made as she met other families with special needs.
Her employment at the Federal Reserve, Crockett and Associates and the State of Tennessee showed her gift for diligence to details. She was administrative yet creative and compassionate. The Lord put her in a supportive position to be an advocate for children in the department of children’s services for Tennessee.
She enjoyed being a part of many family reunions and loved the history of her own family’s heritage in the Lord. A special thank you to the patience and loving care from Wendy Peels, Katherine Campbell, Ms. Sheila, Sharon Andrews, Bill, Renee Alex, Gail Stiles, Cyndi Matheny, and Mariah Yankie. Thank you for supporting my mom’s health and desire to be cared for at home. Tim and Jessica, you sacrificed time and gave endlessly, and we are so grateful.
Our family is also extremely grateful to Bonnie at Blakemore Children’s Center and the many teachers who have tirelessly filled in and allowed Amanda to have time off from work to meet their family’s needs.
