Bettye Brooks Bennett, 91, Nashville, Tennessee. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to so many died peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2020. She was born September 24, 1928, in Memphis, Tennessee. She is the daughter of the late Everett Hope Brooks and Evelyn Halley Brooks of Memphis. She is preceded in death by her brother, Everett Hope Brooks II, and her husband, Forrest "Jack" Larkin. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, William Shaw Bennett, whom she married in 1948. She is survived by their two daughters Katherine Jane Bennett Prough (Anthony) of Cedaredge, Colorado and Suzanne Brooks Bennett Brock (Randy) of Nashville, Tennessee. Adored and loved by her four grandchildren, Lindsay Diana Brock Pierce, Bradford Prough, William Wells Brock, and Christopher Prough, and four great grandchildren, Lucas Bennett Pierce, William Randal Pierce, Mary Piper Pierce, and Maxwell Preston Pierce.

Special love and appreciation are extended to longtime dear friend Deb Goodwyn and to her beloved caregivers at Brookdale Belle Meade.

Bettye lived her life with purpose and enjoyed a life of love, laughter, and service to others. A long-time resident of Nashville, she was beloved in her community by so many friends and visitors to her West Meade Antique Shop (The Curiosity Shop) which she owned and operated for 27 years. She was a member of Brook Hollow Baptist Church in West Meade.

A private graveside service for the family will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020, at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville. Memorial gathering in her honor to be held at a later date.
