Beverly Lawson

Beverly Carol Bowne Lawson was born November 2, 1934 in Nashville, TN, graduated from Hillsboro High School and attended Vanderbilt University. She lived most of her life in the Nashville and Franklin, Tennessee area.

She was mother to three sons and grandmother to five grandchildren. She was a stepmother to five children, six grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

Over the years, Beverly had a multitude of residences in Florida but she was partial to Navarre, FL where she loved to watch the sun set over the white sands and blue waters of Navarre Beach. She also had a residence in Gatlinburg where she found peace and solitude in the majestic Smokey Mountains and loved the arts & crafts of that area.

Beverly loved dogs and horses and became particularly fond of English Bulldogs and was a member of the Music City Bulldog Club. Over the years she raised and showed a multitude of her dogs and had many become Champions as well as one that was inducted into the English Bulldog Hall of Fame. She also was an AKC judge.

She is survived by her husband Jim Lawson; sons Mel McKinnon, Mike McKinnon, Mark McKinnon; her sister Sandra Bowne-Culberson; grandchildren Benson McKinnon, Gray McKinnon, Paige McKinnon; nieces Bonnie Swan Young and Holly Swan.

Beverly was a lifelong Christian and a member of the Covenant Baptist Church. As a wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, she will be remembered fondly by her family and friends. Most of all, she will be deeply missed by all of us.
