Bobbie Nell Benick of Franklin, Tennessee passed away peacefully with her children by her side on March 18, 2025 at the age of 85.
Bobbie was born November 17, 1939 in Baldwyn, Mississippi to Herman and Jewell Pannell. Her family moved to Memphis, TN in 1949 where she attended Humes High School and received her high school diploma. Shortly after, fate led her to the love of her life John (Buddy) Benick. She became a devoted wife and wonderful mother to three beautiful children – Cathy, Chris and Carmen.
To know Bobbie was to know kindness, compassion and unwavering faith. She had a sense of humor that was unmatched, lifting the spirits of those around her with her infectious smile and laughter no matter if they were family, friend or stranger. Anyone who met Bobbie could not forget her unfailing passion and love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Francis Benick; parents John Herman Pannell, Sr. and Jewell Inez Pannell; sisters Judy Hester Vopel, Shelby Jean Couch, and Rhonda Renee Davis; and brother Herman Pannell, Jr.
Bobbie is survived by her cherished family including children Cathy (Jim) Montgomery, Chris (Kay) Benick, and Carmen Benick; grandchildren Josh (Megan) Prichard, Eric (Tawny) Benick, Emily Brewton, Alex Benick, Kate Barnes, and Evan Barnes; great-grandchildren Jonas Prichard, Mackenzie Fox, Emery Prichard, and Miles Erwin; and sisters Sandra Pannell and Shirley Nicholson. She also leaves behind her adored nieces and nephews, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who all brought her immense joy.
Bobbie’s love, laughter, and undying faith will never fade, as it lives through her children, grandchildren and family. She will forever be missed and always remembered.
Services will be held Friday, April 4, 2025 at St. Philip Catholic Church, 113 2nd Avenue, South in Franklin, TN with visitation at 10:00a and Mass at 11:00a. Interment of ashes will follow at Harpeth Hills Cemetery, 9090 TN-100 in Nashville at 12:30p. Father Jerry Strange will preside. A celebratory reception will follow at the Pavilion at Harpeth Hills Cemetery.
