On Friday, March 12, our beloved Brenda Allen was miraculously healed by being called home to heaven by her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 25, 1950, she is preceded in death by her father, Charles Bryant Jr., and her mother, Louise Holliman Bryant Gilbert.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jimmy Allen; children Barry (Sue) Kennedy, Wendy (Jason) Demumbra, Jeremy (Tiffany) Allen, and adopted daughter, Miranda (Stephen) Self; grandchildren Zach, Elissa, and Noah Pollard, Bailey Self, Kayla (Casey) Damron, Jana McCall, Malia (J) Freeman, Donna (Garett) Bandy, Timmy Allen, and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Debra Tomlin and Linda (Ron) Stone; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Brenda was active in her church where she loved to sing duets with her husband, sing in the choir, teach, and she and Jimmy served as custodians for many years.
She loved to cook for family and friends and spend time with them, loving on each one. She loved to camp, pop bubble wrap, hanging out with her children and grandchildren, dinner shows, Pigeon Forge, beach vacations, and bible study.
Brenda loved to share the testimony of God’s love to anyone who would listen. She never met a stranger and loved to help others. She would brighten the room as she walked in.
She will be missed by many, some of whom called her mom or yaya or nanny. Our family will forever have a hole that can’t be filled in our hearts. Can’t wait to see you soon.
