Brian Charles Hampton, age 54, passed on June 29, 2019. Brian was born on December 28, 1964 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Charles and Peggy Hampton. Brian was a senior vice president and group publisher with HarperCollins Christian Publishing for twenty-eight years. He enjoyed many activities including motorcycling, running, reading and listening to music. He loved spending time reading the Bible and was a beloved Sunday School teacher for many years. Brian had an attentive listening ear and was relied on for sound advice. Brian was family centered. His most cherished moments were playing games like disc golf, tennis and dominoes with his family. His quick wit was known by many and appreciated by all.

Brian was preceded by his father, Charles. He is survived by his mother, Peggy, his wife, Karen, and his two children Ben (Erica) Hampton and Caroline (David) Cole, and his four siblings, Shari Windom, Joel (Shelly) Hampton, Leslie (Kevin) Hester, and Jennifer (Allen) Bowen.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Cofer's Chapel on Franklin Pike in Nashville, TN with Reverend Joel Hampton officiating. The family will receive loved ones from 9-11 a.m. preceding the service from 11-12 p.m. In lieu of memorial flowers, donations may be given to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or the Ralph C. and Lucille Hampton Academic Scholarship at Welch College.
