Bruce Waverly Peebles, 52, well-known sculptor, died at home of pancreatic cancer, peacefully, in his wife's arms, on March 16th, 2016. He was the son of the late Thomas H. Peebles III and Katherine K. Peebles.

Bruce graduated from Brentwood Academy in 1982. He attended Spring Hill College, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, graduating in 1986. While there, he co-founded a loose association of fun-loving miscreants known as "The Crewe of Chaos."

His career as a brilliant and innovative sculptor was helped along by Walter Knestrick, the father of Bruce's best friend from high school. His sculpting style was greatly influenced by two year's study in Zimbabwe, Africa, where he worked alongside the sculptors from the Shona tribe.

He returned to Africa to marry his wife of 15 years, Lisa Bronston Peebles. He is survived by his beloved wife and two sons, Kyle Peebles (12) and Michael Peebles (10); his mother, Katie Peebles; two brothers, Paul Peebles (Leslie Peebles), and Tommy Peebles (Betsy Peebles); as well as three nephews and two nieces.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday, March 20th from 2:00-3:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville, 37221 with memorial services immediately thereafter, with the Reverend Donna Michael officiating. If desired, the family suggests donations to Alive Hospice.
