Buford Painter 83 of South Side TN passed away at his home February 15, 2020. He was born in Lynchburg, TN on April 23, 1936 to Emma and George Painter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Alberta Vaughn Painter, son Jimmy Painter, daughter Roxanne Weatherford, sister's Mary Painter and Mae Harris, brothers June and Ray Painter.
Buford is survived by his wife Grace Painter, daughter Judy (Jeff) King, brother Jake Painter, son-in-law Mike Weatherford, three granddaughters, Beth (Joe) Bass, Jennifer (Ben) DeMoss, Stephanie King, seven great-grandkids, Colten and Liam DeMoss, Sara and Emily Bass, Jimmy and Kiely King, and Layla Archey, his Aunt Martha Burton, stepson's Ray (Pat) Harrell, Rocky Harrell, stepdaughters Buffy (Bruce) Fawver, Ann Bledsoe, and Tina (Dennis) Cathey, and many, many nieces and nephews.
Buford worked for over 20 years building diesel starters and alternators. After retiring, Buford enjoyed spending time with his family and he could often be found outside taking care of his lawn. He was always working outside on something.
Pallbearer's will be family and friends.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 and 12-2 p.m. on Thursday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
