RODGERS, Carl D. "Tip", age 94, passed away April 6, 2012. Carl was born in Cottonwood, TN and was a 1936 graduate of Gallatin High School where he lettered in basketball and football. Throughout his life he was an avid sports fan. He was retired from Genesco with over 50 years of service. He was an Elder for 45 years, serving the Centerville and Hendersonville Church of Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Ona Lee Rodgers; son, Glen D.Patricia Rodgers; daughter, Fay Phillip DeWire; grandchildren, Tracey DeWire, Lesley Aaron Ochoa, Alison Rodgers, Patrick Rodgers; 5 great-grandchildren also survive. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Monday at the Hendersonville Church Of Christ at 11 a.m. with Bro. Keith Parker, Rodney Cloud, and James Vanderver officiating. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be James Oldfield, Ron Pounders, Larry Perry, Eddie Freeman, Patrick Rodgers, and Aaron Ochoa. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Brown, Dennis Robertson, Lee & Bee Willingham, Judy Rodgers, Susan Harber, Bobby & Mary Catherine Bates, Bill & Betty Davis, and all current and former Elders and wives of Hendersonville Church Of Christ. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home and on Monday at the Church beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
