Carl V. Gilbert

Carl V. Gilbert, age 74, of Nunnelly, Tennessee passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 8, 2024. He was born on June 14, 1949, to the late Robert Jesse Gilbert and Edna Heathcoat Gilbert in Coble, Tennessee.  

In his spare time, he loved to watch Westerns on television. Carl also enjoyed collecting knives and guns.  

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above; his loving wife of over twenty years, Dorothy Carolyn Gilbert; his brothers, Jimmy Lee Gilbert and William Howard Gilbert; and his granddaughter, Carla Michelle Buttrey.  

Carl is survived by his son, William Kevin Gilbert (Charlotte Sullivan); daughter, Connie Sue Buttrey; granddaughter, Cassidy Marie Buttrey; great-grandson, Conner Underwood; great-grandson, Anthony Sullivan; and great-granddaughter, Rachel Sullivan. 

Officiating will be Reverend Rick Warren. 

A visitation will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday, April 12, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, April 12, 2024, beginning at 1:30pm with burial to follow at 2:30pm.
