Carl “Tinker” Medlin, 89, of Waverly, Tennessee passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 21, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife and companion of 52 years Dorothy “Faye” Medlin, parents Claude and Dovie Medlin, brothers James “Bub” Medlin, Claude “Buzzy” Medlin, Jr., and Delmar “Austin” Medlin and grandson Blake Harness.
Carl is survived by his brother John “Johnny” (Wanda) Medlin, children Cindy Medlin (J.W) Morris, Carl Medlin, Jr., Lisa Medlin Holman (Joe Wendl) and Diahann Medlin (Tony) Keeton, stepson Freddie (Jodi) Perry, grandchildren Angie (Stephen) Henkel, Brad (Suzanne) Tidwell, Chase (Sydnie) Tidwell, John Keeton II and Catherine Keeton, 10 great-grandchildren, a host of step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Carl was a member of Waverly church of Christ. He graduated from Cohn High School in 1953, and went on to proudly serve his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps - Parris Island, South Carolina. Tinker as he was fondly known as was an avid fan of NASCAR, UT Vols Football, Lady Vols Basketball and loved to put out and run trotlines for catfish. He was a long-time employee of Belle Meade Country Club for over 35 years. But more than anything, Tinker loved spending time with his family, and will always be remembered for doing things “his way”.
The family would like to thank the St. Thomas West ICU doctors, nurses and staff for their extraordinary care and compassion during their father and stepmother’s illnesses.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9:30 AM until service time at 11:30 AM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville, Tennessee 37221 with Bro. David Estes officiating and burial to follow at 12:30 PM Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
