Carolyn Elaine Martin Lawson, 66, passed away on June 24, 2017 in Atlanta, GA.

Born in Florence, Alabama on September 10, 1950 to the late Charles N. Martin and Hazel Hawkins Martin, she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Lawson, brother Thomas "Tommy" Clarence Martin, and granddaughter Harper Charlene Jackson.

She is survived by her daughter Melissa "Missy" Dawn Jackson and her husband Joe; son Landon Wesley Lawson and his wife Korrie; grandchildren Josephine "Josie" Dawn Jackson, William Neil Martin Lawson, and Thomas Wesley Lawson; brother Charles N. Martin Jr; numerous nieces and nephews; and caring life partner Glen Conner.

She was the life of the party and the belle of the ball, and would challenge you to a dance off at the drop of a hat. Carolyn loved her children and grandchildren beyond description. She could throw down in the kitchen like no other and would rather forgo Thanksgiving dinner than suffer the indignity of too few pies. Carolyn was an RN and for over 20 years served the needs of others as a compassionate and loving cardiac care nurse.

A service will be held to celebrate her life on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 10:30am at The Pavilion at Harpeth Hills. In lieu of donations to your favorite charity, please send flowers, lots of flowers.
