Cathleen Mary Porter age 65, of Spring Hills, TN. passed away on November 10, 2021 at Williamson County Medical Center, Franklin, TN.
Cathy was born on November 4, 1956 in Hawthorne, CA to the late David Charles Koerner and Mary Jane McDonald. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother; Tommy Koerner.
Cathy’s greatest love in life, was her sweetheart Scott. She regularly expressed her immense gratitude for the great man that he was and for how good he was to her. They both cared more for the other, than they did for themselves. Not once did their kids hear them fight or raise their voices to each other. Cathy enjoyed traveling with her husband, and taking her annual sister trips, but her greatest joy was her family. Cathy found great joy spending her child-rearing years as a stay-at-home mom. She taught her children with unfailing love, patience, and faith. She inspired her children with her constant positive attitude and outlook on life. She always chose to look “on the bright side”. She encouraged her kids in all they did and was their biggest cheerleader. As the kids grew up, Cathy found great joy in returning back to the workforce. She worked in both accounting and in the mortgage industry. She was respected by her colleagues and made friends wherever she went. Cathy was a devout Christian. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a firm testimony of her Heavenly Father and Savior. She served in many capacities within her church, including her most recent calling with the Primary children. Although Cathy lived her whole life in California, she relocated to Tennessee 6 months ago to be closer to family, and also to start a business venture with her husband and sons. Cathy was known as momma to her kids and grandma to the four beautiful grandchildren who loved and adored her. She could light up any room, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband and best friend; Scott Porter, sons; Robert and Jeff Porter and Kyle (Sarah) Porter, daughter; Stacy (Jared) Robbins; grandchildren; Porter, Tyson, Aubrey and Sydney Robbins, sister; Terri Hess, Tina (Scott) Ferguson and Cindy McNally, sister-in-law; Gayle (Mark) Randle.
