Mike Brown (born Charles Michael Brown Jr.), age 44, went to be with the Lord this past Monday, September 21, 2015.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jenni Grizzard-Brown, and his children Michael and Hayley Overmyer, Elijah Grizzard-Brown, Zachary Brown, and Kendall Brown, as well as his parents Charles Sr. and Brenda Brown, and brother Shannon and Amy Brown.
As the news of his death has spread, our family has been inundated with messages and calls, letters and posts; all attempting to put into words who this amazing man was, and the profound impact he made on so many during his 44 years on this planet.
Here are a few in particular we would like to share:
"Friends, just a moment to celebrate my good friend, Mike Brown. His greatest joy (outside of his family) was to make people smile. His concerns generally were with the comfort of the people around him. Even at the end, he'd ask, "Are you having a good time?" His contagious smile, his sharp wit and his fierce loyalty to his friends and family is what I will miss the most. He was an athlete, a businessman and one of the best, lifelong friends I'll ever have. Go easy Mike." - JT Cunningham
"With his trademark smile and infectious laugh he was truly one of Gods great gifts" - Corey Walton
"He was funny and feisty. He was a friend to so many. He loved his family more than anything on Earth. He adored Vanderbilt and the Steelers. He was so many things, but the most important was that he was a husband and a father. A brother and a son. That is what meant the most to him." - Lanie Emert Taylor
To Mike Brown's children and wife Jenni, "Look around you, these people, this is the army of support your father has built for you." -Bonnye Pinkerton & Pat Dooley
You truly made a difference Mike. We will remember you for the way you have always been to us: a man who's family came before anything, a man who's humor was contagious and never-ending, a man that was always there to help, anytime for anything, a man that loved life. Thanks for the joy you brought into our lives; our time spent together will forever remain precious.
Visitation for Mike will be held this Sunday, September 27th, from 1:00pm-6:00pm, and will be followed by a celebration of life party from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
Meals for the party have been graciously donated, however we are asking that attendees bring their own beverages.
Mikes Funeral service will be held the following day, Monday, September 28th, at 1:00pm
