Charles Joseph Shapiro, a lifelong resident of Nashville, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016.
Mr. Shapiro was born February 10, 1950, the son of the late John Lawton Shapiro and Elizabeth Ann Scroggs Shapiro.
A graduate of Hillsboro High School and Aquinas Junior College, Mr. Shapiro was a 29-year employee of Aladdin Industries and Aladdin Temp-Rite.
A history buff and avid reader, Mr. Shapiro was also a Rolling Stones fanatic and a devoted follower of SEC football.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Sue McIllwain Shapiro; his sister and sister-in-law Ann Shapiro and Barbara Sutherland; his sister and brother-in-law Susan and Steven Shapiro and their children Sara and Ethan; his sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Stephen Silverman and their children Susannah, Elinor, and Polly and her husband Jan Ahlgren; and his sister-in-law Connie Brown and her daughter and granddaughter Suzanne Miller and Ella Miller.
The family asks that donations in his memory be made to either Nashville Humane Association (213 Oceola Avenue, Nashville 37209) or Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee (331 Great Circle Road, Nashville 37228).
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Highway 100 - service at 2 PM, reception from 3-5 PM.
