Charles Gaylord Wack (Chuck), age 84, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after a short illness. Chuck was born on November 6, 1936 in Lorain, OH to Carl Wack and Mayme (Durjava) Wack. His early education included Avon High School, Avon, OH and The Kiski Preparatory Academy, Saltsburg, PA. He served in the United States Air Force at Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, IL and Southeast Asia. He was honorably discharged in 1960. He continued his education at Santa Monica City College, Santa Monica, CA and California State University at Long Beach, Long Beach, CA. A good part of his working career was spent in the computer industry. Chuck also owned a feed store in Cave Creek, AZ. After his retirement he was a school bus driver for the Cave Creek, AZ Unified School District. He was a Mason and was Master of his lodge in 1976, the 200th birthday of America. He enjoyed Bridge, playing his guitar, playing pool, glider flying, sports and war history. While living in California, he was a member of a 4-wheel drive club and had happy memories of trips with his 1968 Ford Bronco and 17-foot travel trailer. He enjoyed cars and was fortunate to own a 1960 Corvette in his early 20s and a 1949 Ford Coupe for the past 20 years. Chuck felt that he had been lucky to have lived in so many beautiful spots in the United States before the country grew so much, Los Angeles, CA, Orange County, CA, Tucson, AZ, Scottsdale, AZ, Cave Creek, AZ and Nashville, TN. He was a lifelong animal lover and shared his life with dogs, cats and his 2 horses Glory and Jessie. Chuck is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen (Tyrrell) Wack. He will be buried at The Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a service will not be held at this time.
