Cheryl Ann Cole was born June 11,1953 in Peoria, Illinois and departed this Earth for her home everlasting on April 6, 2024 surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was the daughter of Cecil Marion Cole and Shirley Marie Jackson Cole. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Health from East Tennessee State University and her Masters in Public Health from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She was a member of Eta Sigma Gamma Professional Honor Society, She led a proud and extensive career as an Industrial Hygienist, Registered Sanitarian, and a Registered Professional Environmentalist. She began her career with the State of Tennessee in 1975 where she was one of four females hired thanks to the Civil Rights Act. She also spent a significant amount of time developing rural health clinics in the state of Kentucky. She eventually returned to the State of Tennessee and worked for the Department of Environment and Conservation until her retirement. Cheryl had many interests and hobbies. She was a Radio DJ and News Director for WCDT, Wrote and published 3 books, was an avid painter, and a novice photographer. Her time was best spent rock hunting on the banks of Lake Huron in Michigan or traveling all over the US with her beloved labrador Sable Lee. Above all things Cheryl loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by: her parents Cecil and Shirley Cole; sister Lucille Annette Cole; loving grandparents, and puppy companion Sable Lee. She is survived by: her sister Janie Cole Hunt; nieces Cynthia Lynn Hunt and April Wallace (David); great niece Hadley Grace Hunt and great nephew River Montgomery Wallace. Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens on Hwy 100 at 1:30 PM with Graveside Services beginning at 2:30 PM CST.
