Christopher Paul Heckethorn, age 55, of Dyersburg, passed away in Nashville on Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born August 15, 1962, in Memphis, TN to William "W.R." Heckethorn and Rose Mary Cotter Heckethorn.
He was a devoted husband and kind man with an enormous capacity to love everyone. He was prayerful, placing his faith in God first as a communicant of Holy Angels Catholic Church and member of Dyersburg Knights of Columbus Council. He was an avid golfer, diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, history enthusiast, and animal lover with a great sense of humor who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Kerrie Simon Heckethorn; sisters, Tisa Heckethorn Ferguson of Chicago, IL, and Paula Heckethorn Swick (David) of Dallas, TX; brothers, Patrick Heckethorn (Amy) and Michael Heckethorn (Becky) of Dyersburg, TN; mother-in-law, Janet Simon of Springfield, TN; brother-in-law, Marc Simon (Debbie) of Pleasant View, TN; nieces, McKenzie Simon Ponzio (John) of Bellevue, TN, Marion Heckethorn France (Christopher) of Fort Collins, CO, and Sally Heckethorn McClure (Todd) of Bradenton, FL; nephews, Brock Simon of Brentwood, TN, Patrick Heckethorn Jr. of Seattle, WA, and Jim Heckethorn of Dyersburg, TN; goddaughters, Sarah, Mary and Rachel Emery of Dyersburg, TN; and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Robert S. Simon.
A visitation will be 12-1 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1 p.m. on Thursday at St. Henry Catholic Church.
Christopher Paul Heckethorn's Celebration of Eternal Life on the anniversary of his death with Committal at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Friday December 14th at 12:45 PM.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Agee, Todd Bess, Joe Emery, Rob Heckethorn, John Ponzio, Brock Simon, and Duane Traverse.
