Clarence Edward “Eddie” Sharp, passed away on October 9, 2023. Born on March 16, 1963, Eddie was the beloved son of James A. and Sophrona Faye Sharp. He grew up surrounded by the love and support of his parents and leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, James A. and Sophrona Faye Sharp, Eddie is predeceased by his brother, Ray A. Sharp, paternal grandparents James W. Sharp and Ruby Medea T. Sharp, as well as his maternal grandparents John Lee Beach and Elsie B. Beach.
His survivors include his daughter, Jamie R. Rideout; son, Clay E. Sharp; brothers, Kerry A. (Karen) Sharp and John L. (Dena) Sharp.
Eddie's journey through life was filled with diverse experiences driven by his hardworking nature. After graduating from Fairview High School in 1981, where he also played basketball on the school team, Eddie embarked on his professional career. He worked as a Delivery Driver and later became a truck driver, showcasing his dedication and commitment to providing essential services to others. Additionally, Eddie spent several years as a manager at Kroger.
Sports played a significant role in Eddie's life. He had an unwavering devotion to Vanderbilt sports as well as teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Athletics, and LA Lakers. Whether cheering from the stadium bleachers or passionately discussing game strategies with friends and family, Eddie's enthusiasm for sports was truly infectious.
Eddie's presence was magnetic, and he possessed an outgoing nature that drew people to him. He had a genuine love for conversation and always made others feel heard and valued. His warm personality leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
During this difficult time, as we mourn the loss of Eddie, let us also celebrate his remarkable life. He will be remembered as a hardworking and dedicated individual whose love for his family and passion for sports touched the lives of many. Eddie's memory will continue to inspire us to live each day to the fullest and appreciate the moments we share with our loved ones.
There will be a Graveside Service Saturday October 28, 2023 at 12:30 pm located at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
