Claudette Melton, known for her caring nature and spunky personality, passed away on February 4, 2024, in Nashville, TN. She was born on June 15, 1940, in Camden, TN.
Preceded in death by her son John C. Melton as well as parents Grover Claudie and Opal Raye Cole Deaton.
Survived by her loving husband of 65 years Lester H. Melton; daughter-in-law, Mary Melton, grandchildren, Megan (Justin) Singleton, John Mark (Ashley) Melton; great grandson, Calvin Melton, and brother Marion (Joyce) Deaton.
Claudette's love and dedication to her family knew no bounds. She was always there for anyone she cared about, going above and beyond to lend a helping hand. If you are fortunate enough to have earned her affection, she would do anything for you.
One of Claudette's favorite pastimes was bowling. Whether it was a friendly game with friends or a competitive match, she always found joy in the sport. Another activity that brought her happiness was visiting their Florida house with her husband Hal and spending quality time with their grandchildren. Watching them laugh and play filled her heart. She would spend hours soaking up the rays and enjoying the outdoors.
She also had an incredible talent for cooking and preparing delicious meals for her family. Gardening was another passion of Claudette’s. She took great pride in growing vegetables and beautiful flowers in her garden.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 3:00pm until 7:00pm and Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10:30am until 11:30am with a Celebration of Life at 11:30am with the burial to follow all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100 Nashville, TN 37221.
Claudette Melton will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
