Clemie L. Buttrey- Age 91, of Fairview, passed away March 17, 2020.
Mrs. Buttrey loved The Lord, walking, good food and fellowship and being with her family, friends and neighbors. She was the epitome of a Christian woman. She was a life time member of Old New Hope Baptist Church and current member of Berean Fee Will Baptist Church.
Clemie exemplified the fruit of the Spirit. Growing up in a one room house with over a dozen siblings, she quickly learned the most important lesson in life. All you really ever need is a lot of love, joy and patience, just a little more kindness and gentleness, and as much self-control as you can find.
She was married to her childhood sweetheart Alvin, for over 60 years, and raised two children, and one grandchild of her own. She worked long hours on assembly lines, and even longer hours in her gardens, and at church. All that hard work was never for selfish gain, she lived to help others.
She loved the girls' trips she and her sisters took together, and all the day trips and weekend getaways with her family. She loved growing flowers, she loved worshiping her Lord, and she loved all of you.
Preceded in death by her husband Alvin L. Buttrey; son Danny L. Buttrey; parents Mary Ann Spicer Anderson and Benjamin Monroe Anderson; sisters Elfie Lankford, Vivar Anderson and Novaline Berry; brothers Larry Anderson, Brice Anderson, Euguene Anderson, Ernest Junior Spicer, Ned Anderson, Dillon Anderson and Wayne Anderson. Survived by her loving daughter Kathy Barnard; grandchild Tiffany Barnard Wilson (Justin); great-grandchild Isla Jo Wilson; sisters Vera Mae Cook (Henry), Phyllis Warren (Clebert) and Barbara Hudgins (Jimmy); brothers Thomas Anderson and James Anderson (Janelle); sister-in-law Sandra Anderson Pennington; special neighbors Brenda Shaw (Mike).
A Life Celebration will be held 2:30pm, Friday March 20th with burial to follow. Visitation will be 3:00pm-5:00pm for more vulnerable friends and family (Age 60+/Health Conditions) and 6:00pm-8:00pm for less vulnerable friends and family (Age 59 and under/ No known health conditions).
