Connie Sue Brewer

May 22, 1952 — July 10, 2023

Connie Sue Brewer, 71, of Franklin, TN, died on Monday, July 10, 2023 after nearly two years living with Glioblastoma. Connie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a sparkling personality. She poured love into her greatest joys: her family, her granddaughters, her gardens, and her life-long dear friends.

Connie was born in Berea, OH on May 22, 1952 to Wesley Franklin Hall and Doris Harriet (Shultz) Hall. She was raised in Lodi, OH, near her family’s large farm, which is still proudly run by the 4th Hall generation. Upon graduating from Cloverleaf High School, Connie went to Kent State University to major in Early Childhood Development.  Connie met and fell in love with K.C. Brewer while in college, and they wed in 1975. Professionally, Connie was a Kindergarten teacher in Seville, Fremont, and Medina, OH. She also taught preschool in Clarksville and Columbia, TN. K.C.’s job moved the family several times throughout their marriage between Ohio, Tennessee, and in more recent years, Europe. K.C. and Connie retired to Franklin, TN in 2006.

Connie was a devoted wife and mother, and over-the-moon about her granddaughters. ‘“Nonnie,” as her girls called her, relished every opportunity to be with them, play with them, and teach them. She was well known for her magical bag, always full of surprises and activities, and, most likely, homemade cookies. Connie loved family holidays and going on family vacations to the beach and Disney World. She loved making lists of plans for the next time her family gathered together, as well as finding the most thoughtful gifts for all her loved ones.

Connie is survived by her husband of 48 years, K.C. Brewer; her children Christie (Jeremy) Brewer Boyd and Josh (Lindsey) Brewer, her four fantastic granddaughters, Larkin Boyd, Marguerite Boyd, Hadley Brewer, and Junia Boyd; her brothers Dewey (Marilyn) Hall and Lee (Jeanne) Hall, and brother-in-law, Barry Brewer, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Doris Hall, her parents-in-law, Paul and Frances Brewer and her sister-in-law, Wendy Brewer.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages contributions in honor of Connie to Vanderbilt Health’s Division of Neuro-Oncology (https://give.vanderbilthealth.org/Connie-Brewer) and/or Alive Hospice, Inc. (https://www.alivehospice.org/get-involved/give/).
