Connie Marie Tatum-Age 67, of Fairview, TN passed away on July 7, 2020.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who loved Jesus with all of her heart. She never met a stranger and humbly enjoyed helping and talking to others. She had a passion for flowers, gardening, art, and children. After graduating valedictorian from Jones High School in Lynnville, TN, she completed several college courses before moving into the commercial art industry. Once her family began to grow, she made motherhood her full-time profession, in which her children give praise in shaping who they are today. When returning to the workforce after her youngest was in elementary school, she began to substitute teach and loved each child as her own. She loved finding creative ways to teach kids and make it fun to learn. In the summer, she worked at Young Scholars Institute, an enrichment camp for kids, and used her passion for art and education to assist in ceramic classes offered. Connie was a member of Grassland Heights Baptist Church, in Franklin, TN and enjoyed teaching Sunday School to preschool age children over the years.
Connie was proceeded in death by her parents Kerns Fralix, Sr. and Marie Crumley Smith. She is survived by her husband, Phillip and daughters, Andrea Tatum of Dickson, Tylyn Tatum of Fairview, and son Paxton Tatum of Hendersonville. Connie is also survived by her brothers Kerns Fralix, Jr. (Pat) of Harvest, Alabama and Mark (Lawanda) Fralix of Lewisburg, TN and sister Carol (Phil) Sharp of Lewisburg, TN.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm Tuesday July 14, 2020 and Wednesday from 12-1pm July 15, and Celebration of Life Service at 1pm at Grassland Heights Baptist Church, 2316 Hillsboro Rd., Franklin, TN 37069 with interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at Nashville Oncology Associates, Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, Saint Thomas Hospitals, Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center, and Hope Lodge. As well as their utmost gratitude to all friends and families for all the prayers and support with Connie's very brave fight with multiple myeloma. She will be desperately missed and loved forever. We rejoice that she now has her heavenly body in her eternal home in Heaven and we will see her again.
Because of Connie's love for flowers the family accepts flower contributions or , memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Saint Jude Children's Hospital, or Samaritan's Purse.
